Column Cut, Copy, and Insert

Make vertical Copies, Cuts and Inserts to lines of text.

I find column cutting useful for operations on multiple similar lines. See example.

If you enter the following ...

http://www.textwidgets.com
http://www.memorizenow.com
http://www.searchopener.com

And then if you highlight (by clicking first on a beginning point, then on an ending point) like this...

http://www.textwidgets.com
http://www.memorizenow.com
http://www.searchopener.com

You can Cut - or Copy - the beginning of each line and be left with just ...

textwidgets.com
memorizenow.com
searchopener.com

Or, you can insert into multiple lines at the same time, so if you start with ...

textwidgets.com
memorizenow.com
searchopener.com

And then if you highlight like this...

textwidgets.com
memorizenow.com
searchopener.com

You can insert http://www. and end up with this ...

http://www.textwidgets.com
http://www.memorizenow.com
http://www.searchopener.com

How many lines you can process probably depends on the power of your computer. I've handled more than 10,000 lines.

“Let us urge forward our spirits, and make them approach the invisible world, and fix our mind upon immaterial things, till we clearly perceive that these are no dreams; nay, that all things are dreams and shadows besides them.”
–Henry Scougal, The Life of God in the Soul of Man
